Why I'm building Koomo

I'm Sanket, the founder of Koomo.

I started as an engineer, moved into graphic design, then UX/UI, then product design, and now I build products end to end. My job has always been to understand how people actually behave, not how we wish they behaved, and to design around that.

The problem I kept running into

What bothered me wasn't the missed day. Missed days are normal. What bothered me was how quickly one missed day turned into giving up, and how the tools I was using made that moment worse.

So I looked closely at the apps

As a designer, I couldn't stop studying the habit and challenge apps people use. I saw the same patterns again and again:

  • Streaks that look great for 40 days and wipe you back to zero on day 41.

  • Challenge apps that want photo proof, so a partial or difficult day doesn't exist.

  • Leaderboards where most people sit near the bottom, quietly feeling worse.

  • Apps that take your money when you miss, so telling the truth gets expensive.

  • And almost all of them say nothing useful on the day after you miss. That's the day that decides whether you keep going.

The question that started Koomo

What if a product was designed for the day after you miss?

What if telling the truth about a bad day was treated as showing up, not as failing? What if missing a day got you help instead of a penalty? What if you were trusted to report your own progress, because you're the only one who actually knows?

That's Koomo: a self-reported integrity partner. You make a commitment to yourself, about anything, for a set number of days. You report each day honestly. And when a day goes wrong, Koomo helps you come back instead of starting over.

Why "integrity"

The promises we break most often are the ones we make to ourselves. Every time one quietly fades, we trust our own word a little less. Eventually we stop believing ourselves when we make a plan.

Koomo is about rebuilding that trust, one honest day at a time. Not by being perfect, but by being truthful and coming back.

What I decided Koomo would never do

  • Never reset your progress to zero.
  • Never ask you to prove anything.
  • Never rank you against other people.
  • Never put your money on the line.
  • Never show anyone your reasons for missing a day.
  • Never use fake reviews or made-up numbers to sell itself.

Come build it with me

I'm not going to pretend I have every answer. I'm building Koomo the way I build everything: question the assumptions, design the experience, build it, test it with real people, and change what doesn't work.

That's why we're opening to small groups first. If you join early access, tell me honestly what you want to change, and what actually happens in your week. Those answers will shape what Koomo becomes.
